Lost track, but finishing the month well

Made contribution to American Cancer Society today, and it will be matched 1:1.

I did some nice things over the holidays, but didn’t document as I went...

Right now, I’m thinking I may take January off from this blog.  Maybe it’s the end of this blog?

Psoriasis Foundation

Nothing for the world yesterday.

Today, $10 to the Psoriasis Foundation.  I’ve suffered from milde psoriasis my entire adult life, as do some of my family members.  Severe psoriasis is a terrible, terrible condition.  I’m very lucky that mine is mild.

Watch to Toys for Tots

Didn’t do anything for the world yesterday.  Today, I donated my daughter’s unused watch, which she received as a gift, to Toys for Tots.

5k for a cause

This morning, my wife, daughter, and I ran a 5k, proceeds of which benefit “Women Giving Back,” who distributes clothing at no cost to those in need.

(Click Here) to see about the race.

This was my first full 5k run since September, when a retina problem sidelined me from running.

Felt great to be out there again.

Today, I picked up three large boxes that had blown into the woods, on my morning walk.  They’re niw in my garage, waiting for next week’s recycling pickup.

Finally, non-cash for a day

This morning, I got the chance to go out and help a gentleman in my neighborhood who was picking up another neighbor’s recycling can and contents that had blown into the street.

Dec 10 - starlight.org

Starlight.org is an A-rated charity that helps kids in hospitals.  I only gave a little, having to pace myself, as it seems so far that most of my giving this month is in cash.  Anyway, every little bit helps, I’m sure.

Today, I give a little to the James Cancer Center at the Ohio State University.  They treated my aunt, and will soon treat another family member.

Figure this cancer shit out, ok?

Dec 7 Freer-Sackler Asian Art Museum

Great museum, with activities for people of all ages.  We had fun taking our daughter there to do art early on.

So, today, I give back to the museum, just a little donation.

December 4

Today, I arranged for a colleague to explore a career opportunity within our organization.  No direct benefit to me, but it may really help him out.

December 3 - Sleep With Me Podcast

Today, I support a podcast called “Sleep With Me” which, despite a racy sounding name, is an intentionally boring, wandering audio program that really does help me go to sleep.  (Click Here) to check it out, or get it in your favorite pospdcast app.

I wanted to give $5, but the lowest option was $12.  Not bad, really.  This podcastt needs support, and I’m sure it helps a lot of people, as it does me.

As I said before, I hope to do some things other than send money in this month’s challenge, but this does qualify.
